I am truly blessed.  After two years of writing, rewriting and editing, my dreams came true yesterday with the release of my debut novel, Beaver Tales:  Stories from Below the Belt.  This book was a labor of love from the moment I scribed my first journal entry.  From that point on, a vision, guided by a passion for writing, was transformed into a story which then became reality.

The first time I saw my book in print I smiled as tears rolled down my cheeks.  I held it in my hands, hugged it, and ran my fingers over the cover to make sure it was real. My emotions were mixed as I flipped through the pages. There was definitely a huge sense of accomplishment mirrored by nerves and uncertainty. I wouldn’t be real if that wasn’t true. Tuesday, however, was different.  There were no tears and uncertainty but rather ear to ear smiles with a strong sense of achievement.  I was, and still am, simply humbled and happy to have this adventure of a lifetime.  Humbled, because I will always remember who I am, where I came from, and who got me here, and happy because I achieved one of my lifelong dreams.

It amazes me to this day that my journey began as gossip at happy hour, followed by right and left hand turns and even detours. But it was my biggest fans; my family and friends and a chance meeting with a filmmaker who pushed me to publish these cheeky tales. Now, as I write this blog, it’s hard to believe Beaver Tales is a full bound jacket covered book!  So take a leap of faith, follow your passion, and live your dream. You can accomplish anything if you are surrounded by great people.

While my calendar is filling up with media appearances and book signings, I choose to celebrate the launch of Beaver Tales away from my chaotic world.  That’s why I’m writing this blog a few days after, from 30,000 feet in the sky in route to home.  My little respite allowed me to embrace the moment and reflect on those in my life who supported me through it all.  There are too many people to thank for all their love and encouragement – You know who you are and you know I could not have done this without you!

Now that is a header, isn’t it?  It is a short and sweet headline to a fantastic week and can you believe Beaver Tales:  Stories from Below the Belt is released next week!  Sorry, sometimes my excitement gets the best of me.

Now back to those ladies!  I have to say I have some of the greatest friends in the world.  My tennis pals have been so supportive.  So supportive in fact, they put together a book signing filled with champagne, chocolate and love.  Check out some of the pictures on Facebook, I think everyone has a smile on their face and maybe a few blush cheeks after my reading.  A special thanks to Amy and Karen for organizing.  You all ROCK.

I mentioned last week what does C.C. and the People’s Paper have in common??  Well the answer is quite simple.  Their fantastic columnist, Jenice Armstrong invited moi to their Sexy Singles Cocktail Party.  Boy oh boy was the place packed with great looking people.  I wouldn’t have minded seeing some of these folks behind spa doors!  Just another great night in the life of C.C.  Trust me, I’m not complaining.

While this week was a blast, next week is bound to be even better. This time next week Beaver Tales: Stories from Below the Belt will be RELEASED!!  Years of work finally coming to fruition.  I’m doing something very very special for May 10^th, but you should know by now, you are going to have to wait to find out!

Hi my friends,

Beantown was a BLAST.  As first signings go, I can’t think of a place lovelier to have had it than the Onyx Hotel’s Ruby Room.  I met so many wonderful and hysterical people, especially Kim, she is already supporting me on twitter, which is so appreciated.  I can’t wait to get together for our ladies brunch.

Speaking of ladies, I can’t wait for next week.  It will probably be one of my favorite events, because it’s with my girls.  You know what I’m talking about, those gaggle of girls that no matter what happens they have your back.  They support each and every idea you have no matter how crazy.  My life would be so boring without these ladies, so I will make sure their night is far from boring and fill it with the most cheeky Beaver Tales stories.  It is bound to be a night filled with laughter and plenty of wine.  I will make sure to share some of the hijinks and pictures (of course only those that are approved by ALL the girls!)

About the Author

 

C.C Castoro’s journey into skin care began several years ago during her many business trips when she frequented day spas to relieve the stressful demands of her bi-coastal career. C. C.’s personal experiences at spas she had fallen in love with left her obsessed with learning the art of Brazilian and body waxing. After years of trains, planes, and automobiles, she left the corporate world to re-invent herself as an Esthetician.

 

C.C. launched her career by continuing her training in advanced esthetics while working for a boutique spa. Her success was soon followed by a métier at a prominent day spa. C.C.’s techniques and client centered approach helped her to build special relationships with clients who would tell all behind her closed door. Her stories were the topic of many happy hours where friends implored her to tell more. It was at this point she began to journal these anecdotes that would eventually become Beaver Tales.
